From the "Songs I Never Expected to Hear on the Radio" department: would you believe "Moments In Love" by the Art of Noise?
I mean, even for the Art of Noise, that's not a pop kinda song!
Neat. =^.^=

...another AON junkie...

Even more impressive woudl be if they played 'Paranoimia' -WITHOUT- the MaxHeadroom overlay. A much better version IMHO.

The only version I have of this version is on the original cassette (circa 1982?). Since then, current tape and CD releases that I have found have Max on them. :/

Date: 2004-12-15 05:18 am (UTC)In Visible Silence was AoN's first album on China, and contained "Paranoimia" and "Peter Gunn". Personally, I like the Max Headroom version of "Paranoimia" version (either 7" or 12"), since it seems a bit tighter. The original version has nice atmosphere but doesn't seem quite as focused. "Camilla-- The Old, Old Story" on the same record works better in that respect.
"Moments In Love" originally showed up AoN's 1983 debut EP on ZTT Into Battle as a 10 minute song and reappered on the full length LP (Who's Afraid Of) The Art Of Noise. The more common version is "Moments In Love (beaten)", with the solo piano opening. I've heard this particular version a few times on alt. rock stations and oddly, smooth jazz stations. It also happens to be my favorite version. "(beaten)" originally was on the "Moments In Love" 12" single and resurfaced on The Best Of The Art Of Noise</> (1988 version with the blue cover) and Daft. There is also a 1 minute version known as "Moment In Love" that only appeared on the vinyl version of Into Battle, "(Three Fingers Of) Love" (aka "Love Beat"), and "Moments In Love (Beating Hart's Mix)". There is also a rather interesting live version on the DVD Into Vision.
Yes, Art Of Noise is one my all time favorite bands. Why do you ask?
