Let me just add that, due to the 10th Amendment, MOST of what the gummint does is flatly unconstitutional. Most of our own government, strictly speaking, is completely illegal according to the highest laws of the land.

That very few people seem to care, is a testament to the power of people's desires trumping their minds again and again.

Sigh.

Were you aware that Federal Income Tax is an unconstitutional Emergency Measure enacted to pay for the Civil War? :/

Yes, actually. :) I'm also aware that when the social security number was invented, gummint swore up and down that there would never, ever, under any circumstances, be a national ID, nor would the SSN ever be used for anything except for monitoring social security benefits.

I'm also aware of what happens when you appoint a fox to guard the henhouse. :)

Hey, um, just still a tad nervous that you aren't going to want to get to know me better because I'm liberal in many political things rather than libertarian... hugs?

I try not to talk about politics that much generally; this week has just been kinda hard-hitting. In person, I won't discuss it. And having once been quite liberal myself, I'm willing to forgive that in a person. ;)

*skritches ya*

That reminds me tho, I've got to check with Mrs. Gneech to find out when the next CCS is out! *makes a note* -TG

I like skritches! :)

Hugs! Domo arigato gozaimas! :)

Still need to see if my CCS things could be somehow converted! :)

Still have not seen the Never-Ending Day episode.

Ugh.

Social Security. Now *there's* a Communist thorn in my side. :-P

What really bugs me is that by the time you and I get there, they're going to raise the age we have to be to recieve it. And even then, there probably won't be a penny left in it anyway.

Personally, I think Social Security should be abolished. Let those who've paid into it get what's left, and let the rest of us opt out of the whole darn, stupid, wasteful system.

Phooey!

Not to mention the National ID thing.

Double Phooey!

Yep. Here in Slovenia, we have a negative birth rate, so as a nation, we're aging, which of course means that the working people today have to support a whole lot more old people from the days that were;
Still, if you have a better system in mind that wouldn't leave some people to starve on their old age, I'm all ears. :)

Well, if the money I've been taxed for Social Security had gone in my pocket to invest as I want to, it would have been saved. Instead, none of it will be saved and I will never see a penny of it.

Since I will have to pay for my own retirement anyway, I will be less likely to starve if I had that money.
