Since I was feelin' sketchy tonight, I decided to draw the Jedi Masters in my upcoming Star Wars game.

Luke Skywalker should be familiar to just about everybody; Kyle Katarn is the protagonist of the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight game series by LucasArts. Mica Darklighter is
lythandra's player character from my old Richmond campaign, and Shradha is my character is her current Empire Strikes Back era game. (If he croaks in that one ... well ... we'll just say it was an alternate universe!) I was originally planning to have Leia be a Jedi Master too, but since the game is set two years after Return of the Jedi, I think that's a little premature.
(Note to
satyrblade: I have no idea how to integrate Kend Harlow's past into the post-Attack of the Clones continuity. I figure I'll just say instead of a stormtrooper, he was an Imperial Navy officer, should he get a cameo at some point.)
Anyway! As we were heading home from our usual Friday night visit to
jamesbarrett,
hantamouse, and Mutti, we spotted something small and floofy in one of their neighbors' yards. I said, "Kitty!" but as soon as I said it I knew that wasn't it. It was behaving like a wild forager (such as a squirrel), not a cat -- and
lythandra said, "That's no kitty -- that's a skunk!"
And indeed it was. Skunks are fairly common around here, but you almost never see them except for shapeless (and very smelly) dead piles by the side of the road. I think this if the first time that either of us have encountered a live skunk in the wild. We gave it a wide berth, but it was still cool.
Finally, when we got home and checked the mail, we found an unexpected little box from
spikedpunch! Inside was a handful of cute little "Cardcaptor Sakura" plastic figurines. Thanks, dude! =D I'm guessing you happened upon 'em at a SF/anime con? :) It was a very cool little surprise.
That's all for now. Catcha later, everybody!

Or are you putting a set of "NPC protectives" to keep him from dying like in some video games?

Date: 2005-05-07 04:36 am (UTC)Depends on which group you want to listen to. I believe (but am not certain) that by the time of ANH, the Empire had run out of its supply of original clones. There were still a chunk of them, but the Stormtroopers were also supplemented with regular human troops. I know the Timothy Zahn trilogy emphasized that.
So... depends on which version of 'canon' you want to follow. ;)

I encounter skunks fairly often as you might guess from where I live (farm country) and seldom do they pay you much mind at all. I just keep an eye on the body language as I pass them and it is usually not a problem. I've never seen one that didn't give you a good warning before using its bio weapon. Much against popular belief they really don't like to use it unless absolutely necessary. As I recall it takes a few days for it to fully recharge and so they use it as a last resort, counting on the threat rather then actual uses.
