Since I was feelin' sketchy tonight, I decided to draw the Jedi Masters in my upcoming Star Wars game.

The Force is strong with these.

Luke Skywalker should be familiar to just about everybody; Kyle Katarn is the protagonist of the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight game series by LucasArts. Mica Darklighter is [livejournal.com profile] lythandra's player character from my old Richmond campaign, and Shradha is my character is her current Empire Strikes Back era game. (If he croaks in that one ... well ... we'll just say it was an alternate universe!) I was originally planning to have Leia be a Jedi Master too, but since the game is set two years after Return of the Jedi, I think that's a little premature.

(Note to [livejournal.com profile] satyrblade: I have no idea how to integrate Kend Harlow's past into the post-Attack of the Clones continuity. I figure I'll just say instead of a stormtrooper, he was an Imperial Navy officer, should he get a cameo at some point.)

Anyway! As we were heading home from our usual Friday night visit to [livejournal.com profile] jamesbarrett, [livejournal.com profile] hantamouse, and Mutti, we spotted something small and floofy in one of their neighbors' yards. I said, "Kitty!" but as soon as I said it I knew that wasn't it. It was behaving like a wild forager (such as a squirrel), not a cat -- and [livejournal.com profile] lythandra said, "That's no kitty -- that's a skunk!"

And indeed it was. Skunks are fairly common around here, but you almost never see them except for shapeless (and very smelly) dead piles by the side of the road. I think this if the first time that either of us have encountered a live skunk in the wild. We gave it a wide berth, but it was still cool.

Finally, when we got home and checked the mail, we found an unexpected little box from [livejournal.com profile] spikedpunch! Inside was a handful of cute little "Cardcaptor Sakura" plastic figurines. Thanks, dude! =D I'm guessing you happened upon 'em at a SF/anime con? :) It was a very cool little surprise.

That's all for now. Catcha later, everybody!

Hm, looks pretty cool.
But how would it affect the universe if somehow Luke gets killed?
Or are you putting a set of "NPC protectives" to keep him from dying like in some video games?

Well, Luke's generally not going to be joining them on missions or anything; he's a mentor character when he shows up. So he's not exactly in danger from anything directly happening in the game. He'd only die if I decided there was some good reason for him to.

Right, so one of your jedi in there may not have a random change of alliance and an urge to kill Luke?
Or would it happen that Luke would kill them first and you say "Eh, that's what happens when you think of mutiny." or something?

Depends on which group you want to listen to. I believe (but am not certain) that by the time of ANH, the Empire had run out of its supply of original clones. There were still a chunk of them, but the Stormtroopers were also supplemented with regular human troops. I know the Timothy Zahn trilogy emphasized that.

So... depends on which version of 'canon' you want to follow. ;)

I would hope that human (and other races) troops were also in the Stormtroopers, so that "Troops" could be in canon as well...

Actually, the Empire is a very bigoted organization. Humans-only club, essentially, so no 'elite' troops would be of any other race. That's also why you only see humans on the command decks of Star Destroyers...

My game tosses out Timothy Zahn, pretty much. I've read very little of the books published after 1990 and didn't care for what I read. I'm using the movies as the primary source, with stuff from the LucasArts games and old novels (i.e., Splinter of the Mind's Eye and Brian Daley's Han Solo books) being incorporated as I see fit.

semi-urban as somerville is, we have lots of skunks here. i don't often see them, but i'm not often out on the street late at night, either...

Neat drawing. Makes me think about what a Star Wars character for myself might be. Oh well don't have the time or people to play with anyway.
*sigh*

We gave it a wide berth, but it was still cool.
I encounter skunks fairly often as you might guess from where I live (farm country) and seldom do they pay you much mind at all. I just keep an eye on the body language as I pass them and it is usually not a problem. I've never seen one that didn't give you a good warning before using its bio weapon. Much against popular belief they really don't like to use it unless absolutely necessary. As I recall it takes a few days for it to fully recharge and so they use it as a last resort, counting on the threat rather then actual uses.

Woo! Its Kyle Katarn, looking as cool as ever! ^_^ But you're not gunna have a cool Cathar jedi, like the one from KotOR1 though? Awwww. This ferret demands silly felines to speak with a Transylvanian accent! And thats why I'll use my Japalo icon, who's a ferret with a Transylvanian accent! ^___^

Hope you have a fun time with the game.

A Cathar might come along at some point ... but hey, there's already a Farghul, what more do you want? ;)

With a black leather cloak, a lavender 'saber and no pants?

Sorry. As much as I like Drezzer, I don't think he'd go for it. :P

Lavender? Hmmm. What about Drezzer Windu instead? ^_^ *snicker*

Well, it was a rather late xmas gift. And was from a local store.

Glad you liked it. Never knew lions were impossible to shop for.
