I read a quote some years ago about how kittens are so wonderfully flexible that their back half is 'like another kitten with which he can play'.

That dog, though, is just plain stupid.

Fear the devious canine intelligence, for one day they will rise up and...no they won't...stupid dogs.

I have wondered if that dog might have some kind of nerve condition where it does not feel pain in the rear half and/or has involuntary leg kicking...

In fact, I was thinking something along those lines. There are certain variations of brain disfunction in which the brain does not recognize limbs as being part of "self" -- if this animal suffers from that, it could still function most of the time.

But it would limp badly, after a while. ]:-/

There's a related condition (http://serendip.brynmawr.edu/bb/neuro/neuro03/web2/cstearns.html) -- called "anosognosia" -- that affects some stoke victims; they can no longer mentally connect their limbs and motion (and motion difficulties) with themselves. The name means roughly "dosn't know he's got a problem."

Yes, it might be that the poor pooch has some medical issues. Dogs don't usually bare their teeth like that for no reason.

Maybe his leg had been posessed!

Just like Rimmer's arm in Red Dwarf when he kept trying to punch himself!

I wonder if he wakes up in the morning wondering what chewed up his leg? Funny, yes but there's certainly something not right about that dog.

Right! Stop that! It's SILLY. Very SILLY indeed! Started off as a nice little idea about a dog defending a chewtoy from his own foot, but now it's just gotten SILLY! His foot's out of order, too, and you can tell that isn't a proper chewtoy! CLEAR OUT, THE LOT OF YOU!
