Well, I'm up way too late and I didn't get any drawing done today, 'cause I finished Jade Empire instead.

I liked it.

I really, really liked it.

Jade Empire II has now reached the status of "Killer App" for XBox 360.

Damn you, Bioware.

Bah, XBox... What an expensive pile of junk.
For that much money, I could've made a remote control robot! That would have been a trillion times more fun than an XBox!

And besides, XBox games run on PCs :P No reason to buy an XBox, neh? I have two XBox games I play on my PC, myself...

Lizard Rat out.

So true, so true. Sooner or later, it'll get there.
And PCs can run these games much better anyway! Just... Gotta get a good controller (And they sell those for PCs too!

Using what adapter/emulator software?

I looked, based on these comments; I only found two, and they were both half-baked.

*bleh* I'll keep my Big Black Box-o'-Eebil©.

Until I can afford the shiny white New Box-o'-Eebil©. Used, preferably. $100 for a 20Gb hard drive? Pshyeahright.

A remote control robot couldn't run Jade Empire.

If I wrote the programming on Windows, it would!
As for the any game thing, you can get it sold as any PC game. They sell all the titles in PC format.

What the heck gave you that idea?

I bought the X-Box because the second Crimson Skies was X-Box only. Jade Empire is also X-Box only.

You need to check your facts, dude. :)

"XBox Only" is a temporary title, sir. In time, everything on XBox will be available on either PS2/GCN or on PC.
I personally don't favor it, you can see. ^^; Not my thing.

Eh, now that you're done with the game, I gotta ask ya... did you get the thing 'cause it had half naked fox ladies, or was that just icing on the cake? Lol. The game is packed with anthros though, I gotta hand them that. I thought the game could used some more work rather than a get ton of side quests, arr.

I kept getting the impression it was a tamer version of "Fable" though... if I remember correctly, it had some of the same lil' game companies developing the two. I kept getting the impression that if they didn't spend so much time with voice acting, they could have put other amazing stuff in. Dunno

The voice acting in Jade Empire was better, IMHO, although I consider voiced characters in an RPG to be unnecessary.

Jade Empire was developed by BioWare (Baldur's Gate 1&2, Knights of the Old Republic, NeverWinter Nights, etc.).

Fable was done primarily by LionHead Studios, and I've no clue what else they've had their grubby little paws into.

Lionhead did Black & White, Black & White 2, The Movies. They're big on the same sort of "Good/Evil" type decisions you can do.

At this point, the Uber-Geeky would write a lenghty essay comparing and contrasting Death's Hand to Darth Vader. :P

I, on the other hand, set out to discover whether rumors of a possible relationship between a male PC and Sky are valid.

Death's Hand has a better backstory than Darth Vader -- but yeah, every time he showed up, I wondered where the iron lung noise was.

Oh? Jade Empire II??? Oh, thats a new one to me. And here I was waiting for Chromehounds. Nothing better than playing a From Software game where I get to shoot up stuff with giant mecha robots. *_* Mmmm giant hulking killer machines bent on blowing up other giant hulking killer machines.

JE2 is currently in the "solid rumor" stage. As in, Bioware won't confirm or deny it, except that they keep bringing it up.

The only style I gained complete mastery in was Dire Flame--I did a lot of softening people up from a distance with a quick barrage of fireballs. I also had a lot of points invested in Legendary Strike (which I used for most of my close fighting) and Storm Dragon for particularly troublesome opponents. When fighting golems, I used Fortune's Favorite/Dragon Sword. I barely even touched transformation styles, and got no benefit from them when I did.

*resurrects thread*

Dire Flame does more damage, but the Power Attack for Ice Shard sets up a combo that gives Chi orbs, and I'll take all of those I can get.

Extra healing FTW.

Aye.

In any case, I picked this back up after a long hiatus, and I find it interesting to see earlier forms of character archetypes Bioware used in their later games.

Black Whirlwind is very, very Krogan.

Dawn Star would be Liara if you dyed her blue, and Silk Fox is very Miranda-esque.

Sky I think tries to be a proto-Garrus, but can't quite pull it off.

And given an equal footing resource-wise, a war between the Glorious Strategist and the Illusive Man would be interesting - and devastating.

I'm just glad they quit with the Paladin Face-Heel Turn. It's been done to death.

You should. I think you'd like Mass Effect. ;)

Start with the first, and stick to the same platform so you can import saves to the next one.

I know you have a lot on your plate right now, but when you get some breathing space, give 'em a shot.
