I want to say something about this, but I just can't think of anything good.

I like pie.

I mean typography.

Well, and pie. Typography and pie.

Both.

Hey there. :D

We have a bunch of mutual friends to whom you have given much encouragement. That makes you my friend too. ^_^ Mind if I close the gap and add you to my flist? Can't promise I'll be reading and commenting alot, really busy. :P But if your posts are anything like this, I'll probably be commenting regularly and of course I am always happy to pray if there is a request and even if there isn't. ;) So let me know.

Someone linked to a site where they had take a number of Garfield comics, and erased all trace of Garfield's (but only his) dialogue/thought balloons.
And strangely, the comic was funnier, in a surreal way. Crazy Jon babbling to an ordinary but expressive cat.

So at first I wasn't sure if Garfield's final thought bubble was originally blank or not XD

It wouldn't surprise me if this was an inside joke on those.

Yeah, like that...although the link I saw had many more examples, and it was amazing how well the concept held up.

Garfield is no longer funny any more, except those Garfield comics made by other people where they take out all the text bubbles Garfield says, you know, like a real cat that doesn't talk, and make Jon look crazy because he's talking to a cat. Those are hilarious.

I miss the elderly couple that lived next door to Arbuckle. It was a cross of the neighbors from Bewitched (I can't recall the names) and Stadler and Waldor from The Muppet Show.

I have a radio script I wrote in 1981...

Where two parents are talking. Suddenly their son enters the room, and the father says, "When did you come in?" and the son replies, "When you two ran out of things to say." Which was exactly what had happened to me, when writing that script.
