Does whatever a spider can.
Spins a web any size,
catches thieves just like flies.
Look out! Here comes the Spider-Man.

Is he strong? Listen, bud
he's got radioactive blood!
Can he swing from a thread?
Take a look overhead.
Hey there! There goes the Spider-Man.

In the chill of night
at the scene of a crime
like a streak of light
he arrives just in time.

Spider-Man, Spider-Man,
friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
Wealth and fame? He's ignored.
Action is his reward.

To him, life is a great big bang-up.
Wherever there's a hang-up,
you'll find the Spider-Man.

I just thought I'd mention it.

And thats why I don't like Spider-Angst. He's anti-thieves. Thieves have done a lot of good, like Robin Hood, the Disney fox Robin Hood, and Kevin Cosner in Robin Hood, and also Mel Brook's Robin Hood: Men In Tights. ;) Uh, why is it the only good thief I can come up with is Robin Hood? See, this is whats wrong with the world, everyone's against thieves, but not Robin Hood.

--Salen, Not Robin Hood.

Getting caught by superheroes is an occupational hazard that thieves just gotta live with.

Oh RIGHT! How could I forget him? Duh. I'm sorry. I'm only on caffinated drink #3 right now. I'll be more awake next time, promise!

That reminds me, I need to get Sly Cooper 3 at some point, or finish 1 and 2 at the very least.

LOL! My son made me learn this theme song so I could sing it to him. I had to go find the lyrics first, but I know it now!

"Spiderman, Spiderman, Does whatever a spider can..."

Yeah? Does that involve lying on his back with his shattered limbs twitching in the air after being walloped by a bloody great big newspaper?

*laughs* You'd think that since he has a secret identity under that mask he would have made it out of a more resiliant material, eh?

Considering he sewed it up in his bedroom, it's amazing it looks as good as it does. How does he do that opaque white eye thing, anyhow?

Superheroism is wasted on him. He should go into the fashion trade!

Have you seen Spiderman 2? I was laughing my ass off when I saw the scene with the Asian street musician singing the teme accompanying herself by plucking the violin. Among the many wonderful in-jokes in that film. If you look quick, you can see Stan Lee avoiding debris in one scene! (Although given the 'S****-hero' controvery, maybe they wanted him to get crushed....)

If you can find it, get the Ramones' version of the song. I heard it first--in, of all places--a Kay-Bee Toys, over their Muzak!

I recently acquired the first season of the 67 spidey cartoon for my son. I figure the old cartoons, and the "original" batman tv series, are all about the Deep Blue Hero stuff, with less gray area, and are simple enough for a 4-year-old to handle.

Anyway... I have since had to memorize all the words to this. It's become his "sing me sing me" bedtime song of choice of late. yeeesh.

He's also quite fond of "na na na na na na na na na na na Bat-MAAAAAAAAN"
