Alas, Poor CMFM

When Don was kind enough to name me "Guest of Honor" at the Cape May Furmeet before, I couldn't attend more than a couple of hours because my boss's wedding was that same Saturday night.

So this year, I was named GoH again (a very informal process which, I gather, involves Smrgol saying "How about Gneech?" and Don saying, "Sounds good to me..."), and the meet gets postponed until 2007. D'Oh!

But in a way, it's a good thing, because just one week away from CMFM's would-have-been date is Balticon, which we've never been to and have been meaning to give a shot. Since this year's GoH is Neil Gaiman (officialgaiman), and lythandra is a big fan of his blog (and his books too, to a lesser extent), it's a good year to go!

So we'll be there Saturday the 27th and part of Sunday the 28th. I think Bill Holbrook is planning to be there too, so I may hang out with him and do a few sketches for lunch money if time permits.

So if you'll be at Balticon, keep an eye out and give me a wave!

Woohoo! (*happydances!*) I can guarantee that Balticon will be a blast! I've attended them for years. Feel free to ask if you have anyquestions regarding con, venue, where not to get shot in Baltimore, etc...

Hmm, I might be able to attend a little of that. All I have to do is get them to let me sunday off, possibly in trade for that monday, which I'm sure they'll want help with anyway. *ponders* -Frisk

Balticon is a very nice con. I've been going there since 2001, though I had to miss last year's. However, I'm planning on being there this year, so I'll be waving at ya! :P

Actually, Gneech I just had an idea...if the gaming session is going all right by then, why not run a campaign at the con? Doesn't have to be hours and hours...

Um, don't register for BaltiCon yet. I should be able to get you a badge, an artist table, and a spot on the panel(s). Stay tuned.

Actually, I already registered before I made my post, but thanks anyway! I'll only be there on Saturday and Sunday, but I'll be happy to help with panels on either of those days.
