I'd just like to comment here, that Warhammer minis (or I guess I should say Games Workshop minis) are too friggin' expensive!

Hear hear.

It was expensive when I played it back in the 'old school' days - and they put up their prices pretty regularly since then! I hate to think what they cost now...

Exhibit A: Eowyn, On Foot and Mounted: $20 US (http://store.us.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.us?do=List_Models&code=305031&orignav=305023&ParentID=255500&GameNav=16)

You don't NEED to use those minis. You can like, get replacements. Like.. Tokens. Or, uh... Coins. Pennies would work fine.

Well by that logic, I don't NEED to play the silly game at all! ;P

Well, there's always the cheap gamer's friend, more commonly known as Ebay :)

But of course, my logic was never to be taken seriously. :P

I know! What's up with that? How am I supposed to start playing, if the pieces cost so much? I guess it wasn't meant to be.

yea verily their metal's are nauseatingly pricey. Their plastics however (especially the plastic boxes for the LOTR line) are very competitive...

And in other news, the sky is blue, except in the Lands of Sauron, where it's perpetually dark and ominous, much like Seattle, but without Bill Gates. ;)

But yeah, its REALLY expensive. At least the folks over at Warmachine and Hordes, Privateer Press, said they wouldn't outdate any rule they make or change any character, so no need to constantly 'refresh' your army.

Why do you think they call it Warhammer 40k? Because that is how much you will wind up spending. =Dp

Yup.

I've been collecting a Necron army for WH40k and I'm broke :(

I'm not working much on anything from the War Hammer line. Right now, well more like when I get back to it, my current mini poison is Flames of War (ie 15mm scale WW2). Where I go to such detail as to paint unit patches and rank insignia on American infantry that are about .6 inches tall.

And before you ask, yes, I am crazy, it is my problem. n_n
