It took a while to get the luggage, find the Thrifty rental facility, get the paperwork taken care of, wait for them to clean up the car (they only had 10 cars at the most on that lot, not sure why they couldn't have cleaned it beforehand), go to the gate and try it, have it not work, go back to the rental office and say, "Hey, how do we get out of here?", go back to the gate and have it work this time, find our way out of the airport, figure out that we ended up on some other road, find 28 South, navigate morning rush hour traffic, get back to the house, etc.
