Today's "Cake Portfolio" piece is probably the most deliberately "sexy" piece of art I've done for SJ, and I'm still getting "Aw, c'mon Gneech, take all her clothes off! You don't have to give her nipples or anything..."

I can't comprehend the gripe at all. Why would "nudity that didn't show anything" be better than "clothing that doesn't show anything?"

Fortunately, one of the other commentors on the piece totally gets it -- concealment creates the notion of there being "something to be revealed." The whole point of the pic is that Comfort is going to be more dressed in the pool than she is in everyday life, and that as she takes off her shirt, the viewer, whomever it might be, gets a glimpse of what little of Comfort's body we never see.

Thus, tantalizing.

But once the shirt is gone, well, the jig is up so to speak. Not to say that Comfort couldn't be sexy at that point -- I'm sure Dover would have a lot to say on that subject -- but it would require a lot more explicit kinds of poses/situations than I am willing to put the SJ cast into. As it is, the whole notion of the "Cake" portfolio took a lot of "coming around to" on my part because I don't want sex to be what SJ is about. Not because I'm a prude, so much as because sex just isn't really that interesting a topic.

Oh well. Fans are weird. :)

Yes, I can be sexy with my shirt off!

I'm a tiger, I can be sexy in a hazmat suit if I put my mind to it!

Depends on the couple. I know a couple who've been married for decades and they're still in that cute "in love" stage. It's adorable. ^,^

Yeah, yeah, I know you don't talk like that anymore, but hey, foxes gotta have some fun. :P

Yes... they are so strange... LET's GET DOVER NAKED! wait.... did I just say that? No... not me... no... I'm perfectly innnnocennnnnt... NAKED! DOVER!

lol just kidding :) I like your comic a lot simply because it doesn't focus on sex like Associated Student Bodies or even Circles, they have their own lives their own tastes but you don't have to break open the 4th wall to show every aspect :)

I think I figured out why you got the comments on why Comfort was pantless, but Yin and Wensley didn't.

It has to do with body shape. Wensley is just too small to see "anything", and Yin's shape doesn't "suggest" anything.

However, Comfort, being Tiff's sister, is very curvy and seeing her wihout pants is like seeing Tiff without pants. :=3

Put it this way: Put Rosie O'Donnell in a one piece swim suit and then put Cheryl Ladd in the same style one piece swim suit. Who do you think most men would go gaga over? I think this is the effect that Comfort has over Yin.

And yes, I got the point of Comfort wearing a bottom while being in the pool when she doesn't otherwise. ;=3

We have seen that before, however seeing her partly undressed is definitely -- tantalizing. :=3

BTW, I resemble that "Fans are weird" remark. :=3p

Ya know, Gneech...you *are* covering up the most sexy part of Comfort. Her *eyes*.

Erotica vs pornography and all that.

I like the pose, but I think that open eyes would add a lot to it.

(and I agree with Comfort. We Tigers can be sexy in a hazmat suit.) :D

The firt thing I noticed about the image was that Comfort's face is mostly hidden. Shows what some fans' priorities are.

I'm also reminded of Sam Eagle's nudity speech ("Why, even birds, under all their feather are completely naked. Wait a minute. I'm a bird. Could someone hand me a towel.")

Well, yes, her eyes are covered and seeing them would change it:) Plus, notice she's kneeling instead of standing. There's a hint of modesty, which is also very appealing:) I guess I'm weird, Gneech. The piece is fine without removing the shirt:)
Another pose would be her making her way out to the pool after putting on the bikini. There's always the element of "Now I am wearing this" that makes those pics appealing, too..if that makes any sense:)

I think it's a good thing that you keep your comic at the level it's at, suggestiveness in a pose can be just as appealing as something more gratuitous such as full frontal nudity :)

And kitties in Hazmat suits? O_O heehee

While I certainly admit to enjoying a well done picture of someone in the nude, I also admit that there is something in a picture where one is tantalized by what is hidden. That can sometimes make a picture just that much more sexy because of having to use your imagination.

It Happened One Night....Frank Capra...1934. It's near my top ten all time. I was watching this last night and noted---no major swear words. No lewd scenes. Clark Gable at probably his cutest (in my opinion). If they remade this movie today, every 4th word would be a cuss word and body parts flying all around...ugh!

Decorum does reign in some circles...doffing MY cap to the creator...

Honestly though, I've become so accustomed to her dress, that that part of the picture just didn't register with me.
