I liked Sanjiro a lot, too. Yojimbo is better.

Yes, and yes. :) I've also just recently heard about a third Yojimbo adventure, called
Zatoichi Meets Yojimbo
, which is apparently part of a fairly largish series about a blind swordsman (Zatoichi). Hurray for Netflix!

Gojira is a great flick, too. The original Japanese version, subtitled, is now out on DVD in the US. Very very different than the Raymond Burr edit.
I do need to see Yojimbo at some point, though. Goodness knows I've seen almost every movie BASED on Yojimbo.

I love how he made The Seven Samurai because he wanted to make a cowboy move set in Japan, and then that movie was stolen to make cowboy movies.

If you're talking about the Akira Kurasawa flick I highly agree, you might like his others too. :)

I've seen several of them, and most of them were powerful, if not always "enjoyable". :)

Not really; I just happened to catch the opening on my way to bed last night. :) But I've seen the film many, many times.

My favorite of the bad brothers is Ino ... we always called him "Ol' Shovel-Lip."

I have not seen the movie yet, but I think it's so cool. :)
