Well, I might not be converting by next session, mainly because after having read through the "alpha release" I see that several pieces (particularly the Barbarian and Sorcerer classes, to start) are still missing.

It also looks like the ruleset may not be quite as big a step away from 3.5 as I had hoped. I was basically looking for a Saga-zed D&D here, but due to their prioritization of "backwards compatibility" that may not be possible.

I'll continue to watch this. I'm still jazzed about it, tho. :)

Backwards compatibility = Hopefully some of the problems with 3.5 will be gone and at the same time my stack of extra rulebooks will still be useful. Sounds good to me.

I'm all for backwards compatibility, as long as the rules are cleaned up first. :) I'd be happy with "backwards compatibility with some minor conversion efforts" seeing as how any system that diverges is going to have conversions anyway. (e.g., Pathfinder has a revamped skill list, so any critter with a significant amount of skills will require a little adjustment there.)

A cleaned up system that can "import" older stat blocks and still use them, would be the best of both worlds.

Well it is only an alpha release. The other classes are probably still being worked on and refined for the beta release/testing.
