Mar. 25th, 2008 09:58 amSo yesterday I called the neurologist my doctor's office recommended ... and got no answer.
So today I called again, only to be told, "Uh, no, Dr. Bahadori is not a neurologist. He's an ear, nose, and throat specialist. What were you thinking?"
Me: "..."
So I called my doctor's office back and said, "WTF neurologist." They sighed, rolled their eyes, and said, "No, of course Dr. Bahadori's not a nuerologist, what were you thinking? You want Dr. Cintron, duh!"
Me: "..."
So I called Dr. Cintron's office. Their happy little recording said, "To make an appointment, go to our website! 'kthxbye."
So I went to their website and filled out their form asking them to pretty please call me back so I can have an appointment to kill the gremlin who keeps lighting my leg on fire. Who knows, they might even call back. Someday.
Y'know, I'm a young, healthy, technologically-savvy type dude who speaks fluent English and has ready internet access. What the heck must this stuff be like for people who aren't in that situation?
Cripes.

Date: 2008-03-25 03:13 pm (UTC)Possible Darwinism?
Headdesk sounds like they're spaced out!
Date: 2008-03-25 08:15 pm (UTC)Sounds like the run-around I got when I tried to find out my lab work from my last physical (three different phone calls to find out what my blood cholesterol level and my PSA was) over the course of 10 work days.
Then they call while I'm at work, and leave a message.
Now today I had my blood work done for this years physical (10 days early) to insure they have it for the appointment. Everything but the necessary PSA was checked off and (ready for this) they had my birthday completely wrong on the form.
Now this is from a private practice. Can you imagine with this, and your adventures, what a Socialized Medical system will be like in the USA? I'm betting 100% worse!
Hope things work out for the best for you Gneech.

Date: 2008-03-26 09:38 am (UTC)HMO !?
Date: 2008-03-27 06:29 pm (UTC)The fee's increased to a point where I was paying out about $1500 per quarter (one whole paycheck - and no, my employer doesn't have decent med coverage, which is why I pay for my own).
After getting raped financially I dumped the company and found someone much cheaper.
Overall though, the lab problem & miss-communication was caused indirectly by the HMO/PPO company holding up the $$ and the lab work. Nice huh?!
I'm much better off now.
Re: HMO !?
Date: 2008-03-28 05:59 am (UTC)The HMO I had became clear that the providers were very inadequate. Then I changed to their PPO also (same company, Blue Shield)... mine has huge deductibles (bleah) and continually up-crawling prices also... curious what the new-and-better provider is that you found... :}
