Turns out it wasn't Adobe. Turns out that something randomly hosed my WordPerfect registry entries. Reinstalling fixed everything and now it works perfectly.

Except that inDesign still doesn't think that .wpd is a placeable format. Le sigh!

No, inDesign is just a typical Adobe product. :) Sucks up all your system resources, doesn't work and play well with others, and feature-bloated to the point of near-unusability with all the options and features buried in non-intuitive places.

Kind of like Windows Vista, actually... :D

Despite what Micro$oft would prefer everyone to believe, WordPerfect is still alive and kicking; I'm running WordPerfect Office 2002 (which includes WP v10), and the WordPerfect Office X3 suite (which is a couple of versions ahead of mine) just came out last year.

hehheh!! Pretty close, yeah :D
Once they got their hands on PageMaker it started crashing regularly in my machine, and as if that wasn't good enough, corrupting its own files! :D

And Adobe PhotoShop is keen, but yeah... I still prefer version 3 or 4, which loads in TWO seconds and does all I need, the newer stuff is like ya said, BLOAT CiTY... heh!
