I Wanna Play

I've been GMing a lot lately; I wanna play. Of course, we're not gaming for the next two weeks either way and we still need to at least finish the Battle of Brindol in RHoD while everyone still remembers the gist of what's happened.

Still, I wanna play.

I logged on to LotRO for the first time since March or so earlier this evening, but my heart wasn't in it. I don't wanna play a computer game, I wanna sit around a table with a bunch of other people, shove miniatures around, and roll dice.

Oh I know that feeling well but for slightly different reasons then you have. In the last month I've stumbled on a bit of a relief/release for this in a fantasy RP sim in Second Life. It's a far different feel from WoW or other online games. Closer to 'gather round the table' setting you long for. It is lacking on a number of levels (such as good combat and plot/story) but the interaction and fantasy feeling is great. Oh I'd still go for a face to face RPG any day but for now this will have to do.

I hope you can get a chance to be on the other side and get some play time in before too long. Wish I could hellp but it'd be one heck of a commute.
