Except for the fact that the other pilot is 150 feet away from him, this sounds exactly like a landing lesson with an instructor.
What I dont understand is, the escort pilot keeps asking if he can see the runway. Wasnt the information of the pilot in distress being BLIND passed along to him? From how CNN described it, the man suffered a stroke, and could barely see his instruments, never mind outside the cockpit.

But a "jolly Well Done" to the RAF guys. Huzzah!
