Mines of Morass

LotRO is launching their new expansion Mines of Moria today and the servers are all down while they're being updated.

This has left a bunch of impatient and antsy LotRO players staring at their screen and shouting "Friend!" in Elvish at the monitor over and over again trying to get the launcher to start.

One person reported going outside and throwing rocks into a pond in their front yard in the hopes that would make something happen, but with no luck.

As a Tolkien nerd, I find all of this very amusing. :)

Why do I have visions of gamer-nerds emerging from their rooms after two weeks solid of playing the new LotRO Expansion, having sustained themselves on hot-pockets and mountain-dew, wandering through their now unfamiliar homes, lost and sniffing the air remarking "I think that's the way out.. the air isn't quite so foul that way"

Odd, since I did the update beforehand, hooked onto the servers last night at 11pm EST, waited for the NEW updates to come in (game fixes) and went to bed while that was happening.

Got up this morning, saw the launcher screen with a time of 1209am EST welcoming me to Moria. Rebooted computer and went traipsing around Kingsfell for a few tasks. Oh to be level 50!
