Mystery Science Theater 3000 is a big one, although with Cinematic Titanic I've got something 99% as good. :)

The One, True Mission: Impossible is another biggie.

Star Trek, not so much ... given how wrong it's tended to be post-1980, I think it may be just as well to let Star Trek go.

However, the real biggie has got to be A&E's brilliant Nero Wolfe Mysteries with Timothy Hutton as Archie Goodwin and Maury Chaykin as Nero Wolfe. That was one seriously awesome show, murdered by an idiot incoming program director who cared more about his own ego than quality content.

Doctor Who is technically still around, of course, but I do miss it's older, more in-depth storytelling, as opposed to the contemporary "Cliff Notes" plots.

Muppets and old WB cartoons. Anamaniacs, too.

I can't help but think that were these still a prominent feature of kid's programming, we'd be a healthier nation.

Farscape, even if it wasn't quite the same after Zhaan was killed off.

Zhaan was killed? Man, makes me glad I lost track before it came to an end then. -Frisk

Yeah, the actress who played her couldn't take the mental and physical stress of the role (having to regularly shave your head and get covered in pore-clogging makeup will do that), so she was written out near the start of season 3.

Completely agreed with you on A&E's Nero Wolfe Mysteries. Altho, I am more than happy that it introduced me to Rex Stout's books, and can continue reading all the ones that never made it to screen adaptation.

The original Star Trek's computer technology is dated.
Some of the social attitudes are also dated.

But, storywise and characterwise it's head and shoulders above any TV science fiction that followed it, (with the possible exception of Babylon 5.)

Today, they just seem to go for extreme violence with little or any intelligent thought behind it. Perhaps, I like my heroes to be heroes instead of villians.

But that shows that My social attitudes are also dated.

That, or they just go for incomprehensibly convoluted storylines that span multiple seasons, getting more and more tangled with every episode, but never actually getting anywhere. (That would be you, Battlestar Galactica...)

I've said it before, I've been waiting since 1979 for a new episode of BSG.
