I love these guys! And I understand why they get lumped in with the BSO, but I think their sound is distinct - Setzer's sound is much more guitar-driven, as of course one would expect it to be. I wish they were still touring nationally.

Thanks for linking to this -- I think I'm going to have to get this CD.

Well, yes. :) But "Izzat You, Santy Claus?" (one of the other songs on this album) was written for Brian Setzer for his own Christmas album just a few years ago — so it's not entirely unfair. ;)

Gonna have to stop you there, Gneech -- I have a recording of Louis Armstrong singing that song.

Really! My mistake then. Then how did "Stray Cat Strut" get put into the middle? :D An internet search for the composer just comes up with Louis Armstrong or the name "Springer."

I have no idea what that song is all about. Is it a long, lost Christmas movie I've never seen?

Long, perhaps, but not so lost. It's the Miser Brothers' song from The Year Without a Santa Claus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yon2YuXssvo). Worth seeing if you never have. :)
