Well! There was certainly a wide spectrum of opinion on yesterday's sketch. :D So naturally, I had to do some follow-up. :) Today is a batch of expressions which are intended to use the same basic model as yesterday, albeit a bit tweaked to remove some things that didn't work and to try to phase back in enough hints of "classic" Tiffany to prevent that "Who the heck is this gal?" reaction.

More Tiffany Tiger development sketches.

Better? Not as good? No diff? Let me know what you think! :)

You should do Leona like this in comparison, especially with the snarl. I could see them snarling at each other like in that one strip where Tiffany says "You've earned it" or something.

The style is starting to grow on me a little bit, though the picture of her singing... she looks sorta canine to me. Must be the angle.

*doubletakes* Is that a ring on her paw? Hehe.

I'm not sure the hOOOOge nose works with the rest of your style, Gneech.

She should be a lion. >.>

:P Okay, sorry, jeez. I'm still loving the hair style. Great job with the emotions, but the "That man." picture looks like she's just a little miffed rather than pretty frustrated. Is that what you're going for? ("That man." sounds like "pretty frustrated" to me).

What's Leona's hair style gonna be like? >.>

I'm going to comment on the hand.

I understand that having four fingers is easier to draw than five. But there is something that flips a switch in my mind about how your did the four fingers there. It is difficult to quantify...perhaps it is because they aren't attached to the rest of her body, and perhaps it is the long, highlighted nails, perhaps it is the ring on the middle finger...

a couple thoughts...

I think the canine-look aj_hyena mentioned comes from the lack of the round cheek/whisker pad area that felines have. Instead, she has a long, straight, canine-looking muzzle.
I think the snarl would look more believable with a wrinkle or two above and around her nose.
Love seeing these sketches every day! :)

I could learn to like this style, I like it way more than yesterdays. The snarl is really ferocious but for me the pic that nails what I look for in Tiffany is the "WTF?" one :)

BTW, you're very brave to put this stuff out there and let us pull it to pieces. I hope you get we do it because we love the strip?

I'm liking this much more than the last one: this looks like Tiffany.

One thing that I didn't realize had been gone till it was back was the unbroken line from the shoulder up the neck, seen here in the "frustrated at some man" pose, because the hair is all one side. It's almost a characteristic gesture, so I hope that stays in whatever the final design turns out to be.

I like it. It is, indeed, more recognizable -- and when you've built up an attachment to a character who exists merely as drawn lines, a substantial change in those lines is a big deal.

I don't seem to recall noticing lipstick before. It obviously makes sense in the context of "supermodel" -- but it simply never jumped out at me.

Long necks on left, short necks on right and center. The extra length seems a bit much.

By coincidence, I have been toying with which finger to use for a wedding band on a character with three fingers. And that's in a hard-science-fiction story. I like your solution, now that I can see it. ];-)

The gal on the upper left seems to be a good "New Tiffany". She maintains the horizontal eyes, but is new-featured around the muzzle.

A series of quick sketches at various profile angles, and animated for a rotation loop, might be helpful.

I don't know if you saw my previous comment, but...well, you pretty much addressed all my critiques here :-) This is unquestionably Tiff! So, rockin', go for it :-)

Two minor thoughts...with all due respect to Sue, I'm not sure what I think of the single-lip lipstick. Not sure if her muzzle is the right shape for that. And the nose (the nose pad itself) shape is a bit canid. The nose has a dip in the center on top, making it shaped somewhere between a Y and a heart. Google "tiger face" images to see. It's a little less pronounced in lions, but similar. Meanwhile the nose that is rounded on top is more reminisicient of a dog. Just a suggestion.

Dunno about the 4-fingered hands. I could never get the hang of 'em myself, but if you like 'em, kewl :-)

The "WTF?" shot is the one that looks most like Tiffany to me. But I'm not an artist- so I'm afraid I can't give you any really constructive feedback beyond "Dur...DAT one."...

Hrm. I've taken several looks at this...It just now came to me what's bothering me,. She looks younger, but I'm not sure if she looks too young or not. Shooting for early 20s?
