It depends on the song, but yeah, sometimes they're major downers. Certainly the song that came up first was; I forget what it was now tho.

"Domino Dancing", "It's A Sin" and "Suburbia" can all be seen as gloomy. Maybe even "Left To My Own Devices" and "What Have I Done To Deserve This?"

But those are all still bouncy synthpop. Since he's at work I was assuming he just wanted the beat, and the lyrics weren't really that important.
