My muse was really on the ball today. Besides the Torey pic (which I'm still pretty jazzed about), I spent the evening writing storyboards for NeverNever ... and honestly I think some of this is the best NN stuff I've ever written.
I've had the outline worked out for over a year now, in fact close to two, but it sat on the back burner for so long because there just wasn't time to do it while trying to get Suburban Jungle to a satisfactory conclusion. The part I'm writing now will bring the Widow Shins/Pookas & Jackalopes storyline to a close as well as bring the strip to the end of its second book, only ten years after the first book. Oops. *^.^*
What can I say? I'm not a fast worker. But I am a determined one.
Now, when these storyboards will translate into actual strips on the web that people can see, I cannot tell you. Not because it's a secret, but purely because I don't know. I do have an artist in mind, and the last time we spoke about it the artist gave me every indication of still wanting to work on it — but since it has languished for so long I certainly wouldn't feel right about just assuming they still did. But one of the conditions the artist and I agreed on was that they wouldn't start drawing until I had the entire storyline written up and storyboarded -- and then we wouldn't start posting strips until they had built up a strong buffer.
As of right now, I am almost finished with the storyboards and should have them to the artist sometime this weekend. From there it will be up to them as to what happens next. Certainly I'm hoping that we'll have some new (and frankly awesome) NeverNever out there in the not-too-distant future, but I'm not in a position to make any promises yet. :) I'll let you know when I am.
