Three Things
Jan. 9th, 2016 11:49 pmMorning shifts at Starbucks are pretty uniformly rough, but weekend morning shifts are the worst, at least for me, because they tend to pretty much destroy the whole rest of my day.
So I suppose it makes a certain amount of sense that weekend morning shifts started coming at me relentlessly. If the Universe wanted me to say adios to the job, that's probably the most effective way to do it. On the other hand, I kinda feel like I was nudged into taking the job by the Universe in the first place, so... What gives, Universe? Did you want me to take the job or not? :P
So after a particularly draining day at the job, in cold, wet, and fugly weather, I decided that if I couldn't be in Santa Cruz, I'd bring Santa Cruz to me. (Or, as I put it on Twitter, "Even if my body can't be on the beach, there's no reason my mind and heart can't.") To that end, after a nap and a shower, I put on my fave tropical print shirt and we went to Joe's Crab Shack. Not exactly a tiki bar, but probably the closest thing to it I'm going to easily find, and besides, how many tiki bars serve jalapeño-crab-stuffed-shrimp?
That helped boost my spirits immensely. My body was still tired, of course, but I was at least happier, and that's a good start.
Alas, another morning shift tomorrow, and this one lasts until 4 p.m., ugh. But I'll find a way to make it a good thing! In the meantime, g'nite world, and have an awesome tomorrow. :)

Three Goals For Tomorrow
- Relax and have fun with my shift.
- Work on a plan for the upcoming week.
- Try to get in some pony time.
