LJ has some limits now ... and to hear people talk, you'd think the people who set up the service were holding a gun to somebody's head and stealing their money, instead of providing a free and valuable community service out of their own pockets.

Insert rant about "entitlement culture" here. Pfui.

Remember folks, anything free is worth what you paid for it.

-The Gneech <-- never sets up free and valuable community services for just this reason

For what it's worth.....

speaking as a free user who plans to become a paid user (because I *really* like LJ)...my own personal opinion is this: I agree with the person who commented that five per day for free users would be more in balance with the rest. However, by the same token, it really doesn't matter a whole lot to me, because I don't think I've ever posted more than three in a given day, and that maybe only once, and only because I'd written a couple on the velo over a three day period and just uploaded them all at once. I usually try to do one per day toward the end of the day, and just put the day's events all in one post. I read a couple of communities, but don't usually post in them, so that's not an issue.

By the same token, though, I think paid users should be unlimited in posts like it has been for everyone all along. I figure if they're people who are willing to fork over money for a service that they could get free, they're more likely to be the type of person who is unlikely to abuse that same service.

Ok, so there's my two cents worth.
