Last night, I was checking out a friend's LJ friends page out of curiosity when I noticed ... it was ... post after post of just me, blathering away ... with the rare interruption of somebody else making a terse post about one thing or another.

It was the text-based equivalent of being locked in a room with my mother. *shudder*

I think I'm going to try to curtail my posting for a while.

Oh, Gneech, don't be silly.
I, for one, quite enjoy your journal.

Either they don't have many friends selected, or their friends are quiet.
(Or possibly, most of their friends post only Friends-Only posts.)

You don't post too much IMO.

Have you looked at how much *I* post lately?

Everyone has a different posting/journaling style. From my point of view, yours is just fine. Don't sweat it.

I like reading Gneech,
His words always seem quite wise.

Perspective:
- You're still on their Friends list, so they obviously *like* reading your postings.
- It is entirely possible that the other people on their Friends list are abnormally quiet and you are posting at a normal rate. Trust me, you're SO not the wordiest guy in my LJ. :)

When your "blathering" away consists of words of wisdom (not like the foul stink of some of the things I see in LJs, anyone will listen :) I say keep talking. What you have to say beats about 95% of stuff out there, including the news.

You obviously weren't looking at my "friends" list.

I don't think you need to curtail your posting. The journal is there for you to put your thoughts in. If you think often, you post often. What you write is obviously important to you, so why change those habits? Your friends have choices....they can skim the entries or they can not list you as a friend.

If you're concerned about it, maybe you could write some entries just for yourself and leave others public. I'd sure miss your introspective thoughts and observations if you quit posting.

I miss a couple days of LJ-reading and I'm all the way down to skip=60. Not that much of it is you. And when it is you, it's readably short.

Of course, collecting everything together might help, but that could be just me, who posts every week or two, when I've found enough things to rant about.
