the_gneechWhile checking my Hotmail account, I noticed that Slate had an op-ed piece, "Should You Be Afraid of the Patriot Act?" I didn't bother to read the article, but the question strikes me as fatuous at best.
Is fire hot?
Does rain fall?
Does power corrupt?
Heck, the name should tip you off if nothing else. Generally if something has a name like "The Patriot Act," or "Social Security," or "The Protecting You So You Can Pet Cute Cuddly Kittens Act," even a low-grade B.S. detector should be screaming at you that something very, very bad is headed your way!
