Saw Looney Toons: Back In Action today ... most excellent. :) The toons are in top form, and the hyoomans did good work as well. :) Highlights:

  • Elmer Fudd saying "Oh, cwud!"

  • The whole Louvre sequence -- excellent use of the format!

  • Brendan Fraser starring as "one of Brendan Fraser's stuntmen who got fired for hogging too much screen time in The Mummy!"

  • A cameo appearance by Robbie the Robot, and a dalek!

Short review: Go see it. :)

The theater we were in didn't show the Harry Potter trailer as promised, which was a bit of a disappointment ... and there is going to be a sequel to the Scooby Doo movie, which is also a disappointment. :P

IMHO, LT:BiA was a mega-disappointment for me. Space Jam bad. After 20 minutes, when the midgets in Yosemite Sam masks danced around Heather Locklear in her underwear, I leaned over to [livejournal.com profile] xydexx and whispered, "This movie officially sucks."

It bombed, too, opening at #5. At the 10pm show on Saturday, there were 8 people in the theater, including us.

Hmm ... the only part of that I can agree with is the phrase "Space Jam bad," because Space Jam was very bad indeed. As for LT:BiA, There was a decent crowd at the theater where I saw it, and everybody seemed to enjoy it immensely.

Oh well, diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks, I guess!

There is also a Garfield movie coming our way soon. I am afraid of that.
I love the feline... but he should have quit in the 90s. I am afraid of what they're going to do to the movie now.

Yeah, I know... Garfield was at its best up until the early ’90s.

In an e-mail I wrote to D.C. “[livejournal.com profile] rain_luong” Simpson in response to his reaction of Jim Davis getting another strip, I told him that the first ten years of Garfield was the best, and while Jim Davis was taking advantage of the merchandising brouhaha, he was forgetting to give his readers a strip in the process. (BTW, David, if you’re reading this, it was The Washington Times that carried Cats with Hands.)

Do you know who’s going to be the voice of Garfield, since Lorenzo Music passed away a few years ago?
