I Needed That

the_gneechWell, the short version of today: I didn't get much done.
The long version of today: I hung out online, but I didn't get much done. :)
But I vitally needed it, and I feel much better.
On the good news front, one of the places that I faxed a resume to yesterday called me this morning and ask me to resend it because it didn't transmit properly. Why is this good news? Because it's the first time somebody other than a temp agency has called me back since November! It's nice to know they at least looked at my resume, instead of feeling like I'm just throwing them out the window and watching them fly away on the breeze. Sure, it may not be a job, but it was at least contact, and at this stage, that feels like a victory.
Another piece of semi-good news, is that Laurie submitted my resume for a position at Circle today, and I'd say I have a pretty good shot at it. I'm way the heck overqualified for it, and all that crud, but Circle has been including me in their "potential consultants" on proposals they send out pretty much ever since I left anyway, and just never actually approached me with work because I wasn't available before. So maybe it's just an "admin assistant" now, but it could quickly morph into an IT job if the right set of circumstances came up.
It wouldn't be a huge win to get the job, but it would definitely be an improvement, and that's my goal, is to keep improving.
Anyway, it was a nice day; calling in was definitely the right choice.
