Watching Cardcaptor Sakura has taught me many things:
Aren't I a great guy for posting this? I guess I am a terrific host after all. See you later!
-Gneechoberos
- Always have a battle costume handy.
- Always save Kero a piece of cake.
- Don't open mysterious books you find in the cellar.
- You should have brought your camcorder.
- Water is a thing that flows.
- If you're a willowy, soft-spoken guy with big glasses, everyone will love you regardless of age, gender, or species.
- Jump! And if that doesn't work, Fly!
- Stern, unapproachable guys will turn to mush if you cry. (Stern, unapproachable mush, but still...)
- Clow Reed knew this would happen, and was prepared for it.
- The most bizarrely inexplicable events will be forgotten tomorrow.

2. Depends on what type of cake it was. ;o) And who's Kero?
3. Oh? Might find some saucy diary hidden there or a nice recipe on making the strongest beer or spirit. >:o)
4. Camcorders are good only if you're not on it. *shudders* My goal in life is to not make a prat of myself and end up on one of those silly camcorder shows that networks put on just to fill up the broadcast time.
5. Heh. Us otters know all about that. Nice freeway to be honest. No law to slow you down or stop you for speeding >:o)
6. I wish that were true LOL!
7. Failing that you could become a expert on Splattering yourself spectacularly. >:o) But I make sure water is below me when I try to fly with a fast run off a mud slope. Still not got enough speed up to fly. Perhaps I should make it a bit more slippery...
8. That reminds me of that Mushy Peas advert here. Having a pea on a conveyor belt before someone starts to talk nasty to it and it begins to cry and goes all mushy. Then the person goes "NEXT!" and moves to the next pea. LOL!! Loved that advert.
9. Erm. This one have anything to do with fish? ;o) Fish topics are the best don't you think?
10. Hence otters can harass tigers and everyone in spectular fashion and everyone will forget about it the next day. Hence we carry the cute innocent title with us >:o)
Heh. Had to point my ottery thoughts on this one. Don't know a thing about Cardcaptor Sakura but well. Best replies come from those who know nothing about that subject.

Actually, his proper name is "Cerberus," and he's the Guardian Beast of the Seal. Unfortunately, "Cerberus" doesn't really work well in Japanese, so they call him "Keroberos."
He has two forms, a cute lil' plush cat with itty bitty wings (visible in the upper left-hand corner of the pose picture below), and a humongous liger-looking thingie with huge angel wings (visible in the second picture, along with his fellow guardian-spirit, Yue). This latter form is the more powerful of the two, obviously, but he can't assume it until the person capturing the Clow Cards has a certain combination of them. (I remember that one is the "Sun" card; I forget what else is required.) So for the first season of the show, Kero flitted around in his little plushie form, often stashed in Sakura's backpack.
He is, shall we say, a very self-confident and enthusiastic guy. :) And while he doesn't need to eat (being a magical beast), he has a deep and abiding love for anything sugary, particularly cake and chocolate.
My kinda guy! =^.^=

Hey, so we're friends with seals us otters :o) We think the same, eat the same things but guess what? Us otters are more cool to be around with >:o)
I may have to check this thing out though, looks cool to me. Possibly a visit to my local Forbiddon Planet is in order. But um, excuse me for a moment. This otter has got to go and plot world domination >:o)
As we otters do sometimes, you know.

Re: I need TiVO!
Date: 2002-04-30 09:38 am (UTC)It actually takes the award for one of the most hacked up Anime ever show on TV in the states.
They took a magic girl show, and re-edited it (dropping like the first 12 episodes as well) into a Boy/Girl team show, almost making the Boy the lead character. All the initial epps they dropped were the ones before he showed up.
Cardcaptor Sakura is the uncut version, and really cool if you can find it, though usually it's only subtitled.

I can understand to a certain extent why they cut it up. Let's just say, CCS puts the "bi" in "bishounen." However, even assuming that was really a bad thing (which it isn't), it doesn't justify the sheer thoroughness of the chopping up they applied to the show.
Foxcutter's comment that they almost managed to make the boy character the lead when he's supposed to be a sidekick is true, alas. Li Shaoran, while a very cool and interesting kid, is not supposed to be on par with Sakura in terms of importance. Imagine if somebody bought the rights to Star Wars eps. 4 - 6, chopped out episode 4 all together, and re-edited 5 & 6 so that Lando Calrissian was as important as Luke Skywalker...
Anyway, should you decide to check out the show, I highly recommend it -- but start with the first episode, or the rest won't make sense, and make sure you're watching Cardcaptor Sakura, not "Cardcaptors," or none of it will make sense.
