Hm? I've got some Twilight Zone on DVD already! Not in a set, but I've got some of the episodes. One had a very good documentary on how "Walking Distance" was made!
I think I have them all on tape too. (Taped off TV, and edited for sure:/ ) Buying individual episodes is too expensive for me, so I can wait for the sets to come out.
Besides, a lot of my favorite episodes aren't the really popular ones. One of my absolute favorites is "The Fear" with the tiny aliens. (I love how the characters finally face their fear and it's a monstrous hulking one eyed giant! But then it turns out to be a huge balloon! :) But obscure ones like that are probably not going to be put on individual DVDs, so I'll wait for the Sets. :)
I rather like the obscure ones, too. Such as the one (experimental) color episode and the pre-TV episode borrowed from Ambrose Bierce. But I really wanted to correct myself - I just checked, and that making-of-Walking-Distance doccy I have is actually on VHS, not DVD. Sorry, I misremembered... <:)
Well, *I* always thought so! But the aforementioned kickable behinds had heads on the other end that delighted in snootily condemning it's "garish" look and "brash" feel. Oh, they'd always give it an "A" for effort and freely acknowledge that without it the latter-day "improvements" would never have made it to the screen, but those were the only props they'd give up for the first Trek. I'm planning my revenge... >:)
Hey, unless warranted otherwise, I always set for "stun" first! But the discussions I got into that had post headers of "TOSsed my cookies" and "It's been dead for years, Jim" must be repaid! >:)
the first series has always been a recurring theme. There was the weekend reruns in the 70s on channel 5 with GMLD (all channels referred to are LA based). Then there was the midnight cocoa bashes courtesy of channel 13 and apartment de night owls in the mid-nineties. There's lots of goofy, weird, neat, and downright surreal memories in between. Viva la TOS!
*Nods* I noticed that. Actually, I rather like those uniforms. I think, of all the Trek outfits they've used (not counting things like Seven's), the Original Crew's movie uniforms were my favorite.
