I uploaded the Suburban Jungle inks for Monday, August 23rd today, putting me once again in the happy place of a solid week ahead -- a good place to be with at least one weekend spent away from home at the in-laws and Dragon*Con both looming large in the next few weeks.

That's the good news; the bad news is that the only other thing I got done this weekend was the pencils for a badge ... rather than the four badges and significant work done on Tough Breaks that I kinda wanted to have done by this stage in August. :P

I also happened upon a streaming feed of the anime series Love Hina, so I watched about six episodes of that up in one corner of the monitor as I worked today. It's a nice little series, not too far removed from the flavor I'd like Suburban Jungle to have, except that SJ is a little more out there, while simultaneously being a little less fantastical, if that makes any kind of sense.

This weekend also got some rather overdue shopping, a nice Bowflex routine, and a lot of Olympics watching done, so I can't really say it was a flop. I do love the Olympics. ^.^ I just wanted to have way more other stuff done by now.

Just promise that you won't do to Suburban Jungle what the critics of Love Hina mainly complain about: tedious lack of resolution. Love Hina was a cute series, and one of my favorites, but as you'll notice if you keep watching it, you'll start itching for the protagonist to get a break every once in a while. Don't let the SJ characters spend the rest of their run toiling for satisfaction and never gettting at least a little!

Well, people complain about that in SJ too, so I guess I'm guilty.

But I'm workin' on it. :)

I love Love Hina. That relentlessly hyper theme song that is so scarily cheerful and energetic it scares me.

Thank you for being inspirational!

Yes, but the real reason the sky is blue is because all the banannas soak up all the yellow.

I live in Atlanta, and since you can't make it to Furry Weekend Atlanta, I was wondering if you could do a con badge for me? I'll pay of course, but could you do it? I can pick it up at Dragon*con.

Send me an e-mail at thegneech@gmail.com and I'll do my best -- but right now it's iffy, just 'cause my schedule is really packed. :)
