Hello, All You Happy People...

Every time I happen to take a look at my LJ user info, I see more names on the "friend of" category that I've never heard of. Often, when I poke around at a few random ones, I find myself wondering what the heck interest my little ramblings could possibly have for them, and how they happened to find me. I assume that some are jungloids who've come from suburban_jungle; others have probably spotted a comment I made in some esoteric community, or a feed (websnark comes to mind) or somebody else's LJ. Some of them, for that matter, may well be people I know and just don't know they're attached to that particular handle.

So, to all you people out there that I have no clue who you are, howdy! Hope you're enjoying my LJ. ^.^

Also, please don't be offended if I don't recipro-friend ... I am a cartoonist of very little brain so I only have enough mental bandwidth to pay attention to so many people. Thus, I try to limit my friends list to people I've either met and spoken to in person, people I've had dealings with on some kind of art or writing project, or communities. If you'd like to introduce yourself via comments here, however, I'd love to hear from you!

hi. I'm Elisa (neverwench's best friend, but she often denies it). Tracy came to visit once, and made me read EVERY comic of Suburban Jungle. I got hooked. Then she met you, and gushed eveywhere. I had to use two mops. I mainly lurk around, and rarely post, but I hope to change that soon.

Hihi, another Britfur here, mainly drawn this way by suburbanjungleness (SJ and Carpe Diem being the only 2 webcomics I read atm), but also your writings are usually quite interesting/amusing. Like Aidax above, I too like Drezzer (if not for obvious reasons :oP ), but have to admit that species bias wins out, and Dover is my favourite character.

And I do admire your liking of old british TV series' (i.e. Dr Who and The Prisoner)

Hi! I'm a reader of SJ, who decided to friend you in order to see news about SJ, but also reads your journal notes and mostly lurks.

By the way, if a webcartoonist by the name of longtail (who will be next to you at Anthrocon, I believe) asks for your autograph, that's my fault. ;) Or it may be a con guest named nylima who's travelling with Longtail.

Longtail writes Gemini Bright (http://geminibright.keenspace.com/) and Apollo 9 (http://www.furnation.com/apollo9/) and is a good friend of mine. ;) Obviously.

Ahh, Longtail is an exceptional artist and 'toonist - she's making some really excellent strips, my only complaint is I wish she had time to make more ;-).

Nah I am not. But I figure we need to remind you of the importance of Jaguars in comic strips. I figure I am the one to do just that. I will remind of the rarity of Jaguars in any comic strip and how you can be a ground breaker by adding more of us third world felines to your wonderful strip.

I figure I am one of those out there that share some similiarities with you. I like felines, I play RPG games I like fedora hats (I have a nice collection of hats BTW)
I am telling you this for no particular reason. If you want to add me that is cool if not no biggie to me.

My reason for friending you?

Well I met you at FC in January and I actually had no clue who you were *cowers, dun hurt me* until I started reading SJ not too long ago.

Well... you may remember me as the con Artshow staff member that escorted you back to the dealer's room through the inner bowels of the hotel right after the "Pencil panel" with you and Suedeer. I was there at the SJ party that was thrown a few doors down from my room, unfortunately I was late and I missed the door prizes. Later on in the night we got a little to carried away with the pineapple decor in the room and got to messing around, talking about "Ted the Talking Pineapple."

If you have not a clue as to what I am saying then I will gladly send you pictures and video of the whole crazy night.

And that's why I somehow wound up friending you... :D

Been a Jungloid for quite a while now, and a NeverNeverite for slightly longer. Found that you had a LJ due to a friend having you friended, and after seeing a few interesting/amusing entries too many, decided to hop on board. That, and I love Brigid and Greg.

I'd like to add my tally to the Jugular one that there just can't be 'too many' felines in any given place, unless of course you've got them crammed so tightly that sardines feel constricted.

No offense from any lack of recipricosity; I'm perhaps one of the few around who actually enjoys not having a page-long list of friends. I friend people because I find them interesting, amusing, odd, and friendly, in no particular order. I'm not saying which are descriptive of the reason I friended you, though...

Well, I read The (great!) Suburban Jungle regularly. That makes me one of the happy people, even though it was sad that Nevernever wasn't neverending. In addition to that, you're LJ is quite the enjoyable read, sprinkled with fictionlet gems. Everyone, behold the art of the Gneech, because it's great (and even free. :P ) I don't think you know me, I suppose I could've fanboyed all over you at last AC, but I guess I forgot. Or was too polite.

Days are dull and dreary, your will is worn and weary, but then a comic makes your day, and everything but rainbows go away.

Well, even though I've been lurking and commenting for some time now, I don't think I ever actually introduced myself. I'd been a reader of SJ ever since the start, and a reader of NeverNever before that. I'd rarely comment on anything over the years though, due to my shyness, amongst other things. With most of the stuff you post though, sometimes it's hard not to comment, what with all the crazy things my mind thinks of half of the time.

But heck, I noticed I earned a mutal friending from you, so it must mean we're both eccentric enough to appreciate the stranger things in life. Besides, how could anyone not like a guy who wears a classic hat? Too bad there's no haberdashers around here, because I'd need on to find a hat to fit my thick head. And I don't just mean stubborness, when you're practically a giant, everything's larger than life. I'm not even sure I'd look good in a hat. ;)
