I must like it -- I keep wanting to go to the website and watch trailers for it. I've gotta be careful, tho, or I'm gonna see too many spoilers.

Speaking of which, I need somebody proficient with Jadeclaw to show me how to play. With deepest apologies to [livejournal.com profile] athelind and crew, attempting to read the IC/JC rulebooks tends to make my eyes glaze over. If I could jump in from practical knowledge, I'd probably have a much easier time of it.

It's not that hard, in my opinion, especially once you get going and get used to the different types of rolls. Of course, I play in an online campaign, where there's a little more time to peruse the rulebook before actually rolling the dice. I stay away from spellcasters, though, because while I had a brief glimpse of how that all worked, enough to translate Portia into an Ironclaw character, then it all fell apart again.

I'm probably not the best person to go to for advice -- [livejournal.com profile] athelind would be my choice -- but I'll try to answer questions if you've got them. On the other hand, I would not describe myself as "proficient" in the game.

I don't have questions, so much as I need to actually play it a few times. Right now it's all so very abstract that I can't wrap my brain around it.

I'm the same way with the d20 stuff, actually -- the books make me glaze over; I need to see it in play to make sense of it.

(Of course, being d20, it still doesn't make sense, but...)

Are you going to be at FC? Maybe I can drag you to a demo game.

See, this is what you get for missing out on the last DragonCon, (a.k.a. Diana Wray, Lionpaw) had a campaign of Claw going on that is hopefully due for a publication in the near future. If that wouldn't get your feet wet, nothing would. Although I regret that playing the "Black Baron" kinda busted one of the sessions. n_n; Any questions and if Athelind doesn't beat me to it I'll be more 'n willin' to chip in my 2 denarii.

Well, that certainly makes sense to me.

You're not in one of the RPOL campaigns, are you?

Indeed I am! JadeClaw - Honor and Empire, to be exact.

Are you?

I'm not in Honor and Empire, I never got a responce when I requested information on weither or not the campaign was taking on new players (this was earlier last year). Though I'm in Jadeclaw: Explorations and the discontinued(?) Ironclaw: In the City of Triskellian

I had to have a friend, [livejournal.com profile] tevon, show me how to make a character for Ironclaw, so I doubt I'd be of much use for you, since I barely know the basics. I'll see if I can't poke Tevon though to help you out. ^_^

And yeah! I wanna play Jadeclaw too! Or Ironclaw! Or Albedo! Or the Usagi Yojimbo RPG! *poings about*

*tosses a d20 at the puppy* No game here, sadly. -.- Want game. Need game. Hell, me and my bad GMing self are considering running a SW game just to do something. Too bad it'll likely fail horribly.

I was a rep for Sanquine running IC at Gaming cons and furry cons. I would recommend you wait till the next furry con and play it there. Or join the IC mailing list to see where you might be able to find a game.

*grins*

Get your furry self to Conifur in WA State, and you could sit in on one of my demo games. I run both systems for Sanguine, and have for 4 years now.

The system can be a bit confusing if your brain is stuck in d20 mode, but the setting is great, especially if the game master is willing to run with it.

I've just finished a 4 year campaign of Ironclaw, and recently finished a 2 year Jadeclaw game.

Don't get discouraged. It's a wonderful game system. Just start with writing up a character or two and try some practice rolls.
