Walk Around Lake Thoreau: ~1 hr

Yourself! Fitness
Duration: 45 mins
Focus: Flexibility
Calories Burned: 340
Result: Shredded

Body Weight: 295 lbs (W00t!)

The Y!F workouts are tough -- WAY tough. This one included an exercise called "Half-Moons" which involved balancing on one arm and one leg while moving the other arm over your body in an arc -- which I simply could not do without falling down. So naturally, Maya called for it over and over and over and over.

Breathing is still a problem. I feel as blasted now as I would at the end of a session of Kung Fu, and for the same reason: there just isn't any oxygen coming into my bloodstream. I might as well be breathing methane for all the respiration goes on -- so I get lightheaded and dizzy after a few minutes and occasionally have to sit down for fear that I'm going to black out.

I need to get to a doctor about this. :P

Oh man, I know those exercises! You know what, fark the one arm balancing part of it. She was like if you can, try reaching your arm up towards the ceiling. Oh, I hate those things. I just finished 30 minutes of Lower Core Strength myself. *pant* I hate Abduction Leg Lifts and those damn crunches. X_X Oh the pain. After about the third set of leg lifts, my legs were burning going "OMG Tell This Woman To STOP DA PAIN!"

But good to hear you're still making progress there. I don't think I could manage more than I did. 5 30-minute workouts a week is killing me. I'm sure tomorrow my legs will really be feeling the pain from today. Especially during my next workout then. -.-

Nah, you'd be fine. Just make a note to have plenty of water on hand nearby. Me, I drink the stuff down like its going out of style. I can put away 32oz of water in one 30 minute workout. Its not too bad, but there is a bit of an adjustment during different segments where you can give feedback if you're being pushed too hard or not hard enough. You can also manually adjust the difficulties if you're absolutely struggling as well.

Now, if only I had the room to use it, cause I got the console for it, I think. -Frisk

I wish I had more room myself, but luckily if I need to hustle forward and back, I just have to turn away from the TV and move off towards the side of the room towards the kitchen instead. So its not all bad.

I'm aware that any exercise I do comes with a definite breathing problem as well. I don't think that normally I get enough oxygen without excelerating anything. -Frisk

You know Gneech if you break yourself I'm gonna have to come down there an womp you! Seriously, the Bowflex type exercises don't do much for you cardio-vascular system. They are fine for tone and building muscles but you need to get your heart rate up to improve the other. Running, swimming, bike riding, etc. is what will do that. 30 minutes in your CV range can do wonders. It is not a bad idea to check with a doctor before getting into serious CV exercise program however. Best of luck with it.

That sounds like exercise induced asthma and it's common in folk who have been or are overweight. Like you said, see your doctor. Most of the time it's fixable with a non-steroid maintenence dose like Advair and a small inhaler which you would take prior to work-out.
