I feel much better than I did last night and this morning ... thanks, everybody who helped cheer me up! You know who you are. :)

Regarding yesterday's Groundhog Day silliness, I'd like to shout out some kudos to everybody who joined in and had fun, including (but not limited to) [livejournal.com profile] dennisthetiger, [livejournal.com profile] oceansedge, [livejournal.com profile] exatron, [livejournal.com profile] larksilver and [livejournal.com profile] russ_da_roo.

On the far end of the spectrum, I'd like to shout out a "bite me" to people who gave me grief [1], including the person whose comments were deleted and their account *BANINATED* from my LJ. Nobody out there asked you to put me on your friends page, so if you don't like that I fill it up with dorky posts, then don't read my LiveJournal, fer cryin' out loud!

[1] Note that here I mean genuine grief, not playful teasing.

Everybody else who just shook their heads and said, "Dork," well, yeah. But you know you love it.

Okay, that's all for now! Catcha later.

Some people... sheesh.

I don't see how I could have avoided having fun with it. Harold Ramis and Bill Murray did a wonderful job with that film.

It really tells you something doesn't it, when someone adds you to their friends list and then goes off on one because of the content he made himself see. As you say - don't like it? Unfriend! I guess some people just can't understand that!

Personally I found it a right laugh although at the beginning I was confused a little. "I saw that before!" I pondered. I was just about to make note of this when, like a frisbee in the air, it hit me!

LJ can be too serious. Why people want to create angst and emo in their lives is beyond me. For me it was a lighthearted joke; something life could do much more with. Sometimes when I get a bit stressed some of the "dorky posts" as you put it suddenly appear and really dispell my huff.

*hats off*

What [livejournal.com profile] exatron said. I rolled my eyes and smirked the moment I saw where this thing was headed, but give you grief? Someone's got a greatsword wedged happly up their rear, it seems.

Personally, I didn't like the movie too much.

*patpats* Eh, go figure. Oh, anyways, now the question is, did you learn to be a better person, who helps those in need, learns to appreciate art so you can be a really good artist in a field of your choice, ice sculpt, help your coworkers feel better appreciated, find true love, and learn how well a ground dwelling mammal can drive?

Actually, many of us *nod* our heads and say "Dork". Like most labels, it can be just as much a symbol of pride and cameraderie as one of derision. Depends entirely upon the context.

Congratulations on having a self-weeding LiveJournal! ^_^

I like dorks. Dork should be, and in my mind is, as much a point of pride as Geek... and way more so than "jock."

Dorks tend to be more fun, and way more comfortable with themselves and their own little quirks, than non-dorks. Why on Earth would somebody complain about your fun and silly? Weird.

I am a dork. I sing show tunes and eighties songs and know all the words to The Princess Bride. I watch Wallace & Gromit for fun, and post in my livejournal. a Lot. I like your silly, sir, please never change mmmkay?

oh. and yay! I was a little worried that you'd taken my ribbing as mean-spirited; so glad you knew I was enjoyin' your fun, and playin' too.

I figure that it's like anything online. There's always going to be some jackhole that comes out of the woodwork, says you're a schmuck[1], carries on like a complete fool, and expects you to cater to their whims - and goes into a complete tizzy when it doesn't go their way.

I mean, this is your journal. But you knew that.

[1] Actually, since this is the intarweb, people like that will be prone to scrambling their homonyms and saying things like "your stupid".
