Had sort of a Father Dowling Mysteries/Murder She Wrote feel to it to me.

And it sucks that they're writing K9 out of it the way they did.

Hmmm...another TV series with a lead female role and an electronic sidekick.

Can we say Doctor Who: The Sarah Jane Chronicles? ;)

This series has completely past me by, I'll have to try and find some episodes (and watch out for the next season).

I saw this one and enjoyed it immensely: It had a sort of grown-up Scooby Doo vibe to it that I just loved. I look forward to seeing more little tidbits of information on things like how the aliens know to contact HER, where she got Mr. Smith, and so on...

SJSA is DoctorWho for Nickelodeon

Torchwood is DoctorWho for HBO

(this is not negative criticism)

I liked it. It had a softness to it, as if it were created with younger viewers in mind. As opposed to the "in your face-ness" of Torchwood, and the melodrama that had been part of Doctor Who. And Sarah Jane is aces!

I rather like it. It's charming.

I hope she's a bit less bumbly; you'd think hanging with the Doctor would work that trait out of one...

Oh yeah. I'm a-watching. Tho' it was a bit contrived, it was still decently done.

Moneypenny is an alien! I knew it! And they stole Kyle XY from the Disney Channel! ;-)

Oh, but the minute with K-9 was absolutely heartwarming. :-)

Gneech, you are funny. You get upset because Dr. Who seemed to be all about Rose, to the point you renamed it the Rose Tyler Show, but you are excited about a show that features the sidekick specifically.

Funny guy.

We haven't watched it yet, but it is saved on the Tivo...so we'll watch it soon.

I don't see how it's contradictory; when Sarah Jane was on Doctor Who she was a supporting character. If at the time Doctor Who had been all about Sarah Jane, I would have been annoyed and called it "The Sarah Jane Show, Starring Doctor Who."

The fact that I happen to like Sarah Jane and am glad she has her own show now, is a different issue entirely.

I know, I'm teasing you.

For what it's worth though, I really liked Rose, she wasn't a sit on the sidelines and wait for the Doctor to fix it type. Whereas most of his past sidekicks did. I liked Martha for the same reason, they were true partners, working with him to fix the problems, not just along for the ride, or having to always be rescued. Sure they have had to be rescued a few times, but they in turn have also rescued the Doctor.
