So ... how well do the designs integrate I wonder...?

Drezzer, Tiffany, and Leonard have a spirited discussion at The Watering Hole.

And for that matter, why do I have nothing but soft pencils?

Seeing updated versions of the characters in a small group really helps me see what you're going for with the new designs.

First thing I said to myself when I saw this: "That's not Tiffany, unless she's gone corporate. That's Athena, with stripes." Tiff looks a bit -too- professional.

Leonard works, and I've never seen Drezzer as surly as he looks here... he must be having one of those days. But it shows he and Leonard work well. :)

Yeah, what you said.

Poor Drezz, he's probably having one of those days, or Tiff & Leonard are having a rather vocal discussion and Drezz is just keeping his muzzle closed.

I wonder if that's the hairdo...

I think it's more context than anything. She might be coming back from an interview or something. That's the only way I can see justifying the look right now.

I agree with AJ, I think it's the context in which she's made up like that. If she was at an interview, or a shoot, basically working professionally then she would look right with the lipstick and hair as they are (Though I'm not really a fan of the lipstick look on an anthro), in the context of being in a bar with friends though she looks too made up.

Tiffany has never struck me as the type to dress herself up heavily everyday. I don't mean she's scruffy or anything but generally for "everyday purposes" she looks well dressed but comfortable rather than dressing for glamour.

So yes, she looks like she's dressed up and made up to be on her way to/from some important event, not like she's dropped in socially.

Same here. I'm not sure if it's any one particular element by itself, or just the overall effect of the hairstyle, necklace, and collared shirt together, but Tiffany definitely looks more "corporate executive" than "actress and model" here.

Also... the lower lip has bothered me in a couple of these sketches; to me, visible human-like lips on an anthro character rarely look "right", especially at the end of a longer animal-like muzzle.

I know Drezzer's got the ¬.¬ expression going on, but I'm not sure if his eyes look a little out of place stylewise. And...I dunno, I'm REALLY not sure how his pantslessness is going to look now.

Otherwise, I think it all smatches up great :-)

Isn't Tiff supposed to be 7'? Is Leonard THAT huge? O.O

The area behind the bar is slightly raised compared to the rest of TWH, which makes anyone standing behind it seem extra-tall — although in this particular sketch I think I shifted Leonard up a little too much. Tiffany and Leonard are supposed to be almost exactly the same height, although Leonard is a bit bulkier overall than Tiff is simply by virtue of being male.

Aha. That's the first thing I noticed, too, was that Leonard was too high up in the frame. Though I (respectfully) disagree with Vince about Drezzer's eyes. They really make the picture, for me. But then, I've been in all three positions in that scene!

Doesn't look like Tiffany, looks more like Athena.

I agree with Vince on Drezzer's eyes, but I actually like the 'new' Tiffany. My one other critique is that the hands look too small.

Second the comments about Drezzer's eyes and Tiffany looking too professional: in the latter case, I think it's the necklace.

Leonard looks great, though. I don't think he needs any more tweaking.

I like the updated looks overall, but so far most all of the images of Leonard make him look perpetually annoyed. Or is that just me?

You know what I think it is about Tiffany? Her long neck emphasizes the hair, necklace and collared shirt by spreading them out. Try making the necklace something a little more subtle and shortening her neck, and see how the "we don't like Tiffany" crowd likes that.

It might be that Tiff looks perhaps a bit too glamorous, for want of a word, than how we're normally used to seeing her. The styling puts me in mind of a 30's - 50's film star for some reason. She looks good, but just doesn't seem right.

Drezzer and Leonard are A-okay though (although I think that I'd probably like Drezzer however you drew him :P )

Did you leave your pencils in the car on a hot summer day? It's like with chocolate.

See my comment above for Tiffany, though I DO love the heart shaped nose, it's really cute ^^

I like Drezzer in this picture... thinking about it I seem to have a preference for the slightly.... less neat look. I like the fact that she sketchy style makes his hair look a little tousled, in the last picture of him his hair was just a bit too slick and neat (Don't know that this says about me ;) ) but anyway. In this picture he looks good, the body language is right, it's him just better, same goes for Leonard.

I find myself making up a little story for this picture, Tiffany has just been to an interview/whatever for a shoot, ran into Leona and has come back to the bar to vent at Leonard, while Drezzer sits and thinks "Here we go again"

I like soft pencils...

well... actually, I like my pencil's firm... when you're speaking metaphorically.

But soft leaded pencils are nice.
