Hello, Mr. and Mrs. America, and all you crazy outlanders who read this thing! It's time for some updates, in no particular order.

Comics

I have started actually drawing the new comic! It is indeed as challenging as I thought it would be, but on the other hand, I'm coming up with some stuff that I'm pretty pleased with, so that's all good. I've got a six page "teaser" story completely scripted, and I'm now plotting the first major story arc, which will probably encompass 2-3 issues. Lots of quirky charm, lots of adventure, lots of explosions. O.o Think Chitty Chitty Bang Bang meets Cowboy Bebop...

Still chugging away on the Suburban Jungle and NeverNever books. Childproof is still sitting at the printer, Attack of the War-Cats needs more art done, and I've started ransacking ancient CD-ROMs to recover high-def strips for No Predation Allowed. I'm weighing the merits of going back and relettering the early years of Suburban Jungle like I did for the NeverNever books to get rid of Comic Sans, since so many people seem to have such a hate on for it ... unfortunately, a lot of the layered versions of the older strips were lost in a hard drive crash, so I'd have to go back and do them all manually. So I can't decide if it's worth it or not. Must ponder.

Kittehs

Dasher continues to be his big, burly redneck self. Buddha, after his worrying internal conditions of a few months ago, is greatly improved! We've got him on prescription cat food (Who knew there was such a thing — and why the heck should you need a prescription for it?) that is not only helping his little kitty innards, but has also seriously cleared up his allergies. Buddha is running around, frisky and playful in a way we haven't seen before Dasher showed up, which as you can probably guess makes lythandra and I mighty happy.

Gaming

I can describe how gaming has been lately in two ways: gaming hasn't been, and there hasn't been any gaming. Between my re-obsession with my comics and sirfox's job eating him, we've managed to squeak in one session of Call of Cthulhu since ... er ... August? Something like that. However! That'll change this weekend, with a super-secret game that I expect will come out of the blue and blow my players' fragile minds — in a good way. If nothing else, it'll be ... unexpected.

Parents

Dad has been home and stayed home for a few weeks now, tooling around on his walker and doing all right. Mom is her usual self and taking care of him like a trooper.

Work

lythandra got a nice raise! Awesomesauce. :) I may or may not get one myself as well, I haven't heard yet, but even in a best-case scenario I don't foresee getting that kind of a bump. I don't really deserve one anyway, I need to buckle down here.

Birthday

It was good. :) Thanks to everyone who sent their felicitations! We're still working on the ice cream cake. ;)

In Summary

Overall, things are pretty good for me right now! And I think it's important to mention it when that's the case. So thanks for putting up with the unrelenting cheerfulness. ;)
