So once again LJ is being bombarded by DDOS-type attacks; like Netflix, I'm sympathetic that the company is struggling against so many people who actively wish to do it harm, but at the same time I'm annoyed that this service I've paid for is performing so poorly.
So in the meantime, I've started up a DreamWidth account as part of my attempt to find a bloggy social home that's not falling in on itself. Feel free to come over and say hello to me there if you have a DW account-- I need to repopulate my friends list!

Date: 2013-01-04 01:03 am (UTC)Dreamwidth seems nicely featured, but it's also populated mostly by LJ-regugees, it seems. I haven't really found a lot of community there yet. It might be there and I just haven't found it, tho.
Google+ is better than Facebook, but only just. Twitter is good if you like being in a giant chatroom, but isn't a blog site per se.
I'm still looking!

Date: 2013-01-04 01:10 am (UTC)Facebook = bad security and ugly page
Google = really hard to customize and not as easy to use as LJ
Twitter I'd rather not thank you
Lack of community is an issue for me too. I'm more than anything looking for a a site to mirror content really.
Do let me know if you find a good site I'll certainly reciprocate.
