Bad news: Christians pray to a golden bull for prosperity. Good grief, people, Heston's only been dead six months, did you forget already? *ker-SMITE!*

Worse news: David Tennant officially stepping down as the Doctor. Feh, you're all wimps! Tom Baker did it for seven years!

I was surprised by that news. I thought the point of only doing four specials in 2009 was to let Tennant do other things that year so he'd be available for the 2010 season.

*Giggles uncontrollably* Ok, so they made it look bad, but it's probably more a symbol upon which to lay their hands, for the healing of the market. After all, "the fervent prayers of a righteous main availeth much."

Tennant did it for 4 years still!

As for a replacement, in the UK some favourite names are knocking about on who people would LIKE to play him, not neccessarily who will.

Bill Bailey
Alan Davies
Bill Nighy
Stephen K Amos
Russell Brand
Justin Lee Collins
Jimmy Carr

Look them up :)

Tom Baker was the exception. The standard seems to have been three years at least at first. It looks like there were a couple two year stints and the surprisingly short one-year of Eccleston, and the single appearance of Paul McGann.

It's not too surprising that Tennant decided to go leave after four (or is it just three-plus?) years. It will be interesting to see his successor and how he is written.

To be accurate, they are not praying TO the bull, they are praying BESIDE the bull.

While laying hands on it. Yeah, they're not praying TO the bull, but there's that whole "appearance of impropriety" thing going on, and you'd think they'd have seen this one a mile away. It's far too easy to draw the parallels.

They used the special effects budget to pay Tom Baker...

ps SPOLIER ALERT from reading that article. May you find a lich in Moria! :)

CBC is playing Doctor Who on Fraiday evenings, but we dont get the Christmas specials. Last episode was Doctors Daughter, so we're 6 months behind BBC. If you go to the CBC website www.cbc.ca/doctorwho you can actually watch the episodes after they air. Tomorrows episode "The Unicorn and the Wasp" is about Agatha Christie, and the time she went missing for 10 days.

But that was Tom Baker, Gneech! Kind of an unfair comparison, you know.

Yeah, but the thing is, aren't Time Lords supposed to have only 13 lives in them? We're starting to run a little thin, aren't we?
